Checkered Flag Final Race Canceled; Butler Crowned 2009 Champion
|
The Checkered Flag Sprint Series final race of the 2009 season was canceled because of the impending inclement weather condition for the south Florida area.
The 2009 point Champion is Keith Butler with Mark Gimmler finishing second only 10 points behind. In the Performance Analysis Rookie of the Year race, 16 year old Amanda Ferguson won over Dustin Henderson.
The 2009 CFSS Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, January 9th at Center Place in Brandon, FL. This year’s cash awards will be paid to the top 15 in owner points and the top 15 drivers will be presented with trophies. Everyone is welcome – so come and enjoy the evening with us and honor the participants in this years points chase. Tickets are $35.00 each and are available at Riverview Racing Equipment (813) 677-7326. January 4th will be the last day to purchase tickets.

The 4th of July race went off with a ‘big bang’ thanks in part to fire works provided by the McDole/Slawiak team. Our biggest car count of the year was on hand to entertain the crowd.
The 35 lap feature, sponsored by J. B. Banta Enterprises, was a hard fought battle for positions one through eighteen, putting on a great show for the fans.
